Opportunities to Grow

Nor-Am prides ourselves on promoting from within.  In order to make that happen, we know we have to provide opportunities for everyone in our company to better themselves.  Some of our current programs include:

Global Cold Chain Alliance.
We are active participants in the Global Cold Chain Alliance. This allows us to send Supervisors and Managers to their annual Cold Chain Institute.  This is a three-year program of industry-specific and leadership training.

Emerging Leaders
Our internal development program allows front-line employees to participate in a year-long leadership program.

Any employee can apply, and with the support of their manager, this program consistently produces our future Supervisors and Operations Managers.

Refrigeration Training
It’s not surprising that Commercial Refrigeration and Certified Ammonia Operators are hard to find.  That’s why we like to train our own.  Mechanically inclined employees who work with our maintenance team are regularly sent to specialty trade schools to receive their Operator 1, Operator 2, Ammonia Technician, and PSM Certifications.  We typically certify 5-7 employees a year in this highly skilled and well-compensated field.

Tuition Reimbursement
All of our full time employees are eligible for a tuition reimbursement towards the cost of school and books.
